A unique monumental Calvary in Morbihan

The monumental calvary of Guéhenno, a large calvary like those found in Finistère, is exceptional for the richness of its statuary and its history. Built in 1550, it was almost completely destroyed by the Revolutionaries, then completely restored in 1853 by Abbot Jacquot, thanks to the pieces hidden by the parishioners. The calvary of Guéhenno is part of the association of monumental calvaries of Brittany.

Le manoir de Lemay, un bijou d'architecture Renaissance

A few kilometers from the village, on the road to Guégon, the Manoir de Lemay is worth a visit. This former hunting lodge, whose construction, never finished, dates back to 1570, is a fine example of the architecture of the second Renaissance in Brittany. It has a superb dovecote and a well. Listed as a Historic Monument, it has become a place of Art and Culture and hosts exhibitions. It is now privately owned.

Near the calvary, St Michel chapel

At Mont, the St Michel chapel dating from the 15th century dominates the village. It has a listed statue of St Michel slaying the dragon and a sculpted tympanum from the 15th century. The panorama of the surrounding area is superb. It can be visited all year round.

A very important fair was held there every year on St. Michael's Day. The inhabitants revive this tradition today through a pardon on the last Sunday in September.
