Still very many !
A bread oven is a masonry structure, generally vaulted, opened from the front, to bake bread, pastries...
Each farm used to have its own bread oven. In feudal times, depending on the region, the bread oven was sometimes a privilege of the lord from which he took advantage by levying a tax on each cooking (called banalities). With the multiplication of bakeries in the communes, as well as the transport facilities, the country ovens will gradually fall into oblivion.
There are still very numerous in our countryside and some still in activity.
